Feeling Takes Strength

Dear you reading this,

I realize how you’re feeling.
I know the injury that extends across your skin and the void
getting back to your chest.
It has been a long one.
You’ve endured to such an extent.
I realize you are wondering how the following day will be once more.

I realize you need to be in bed right now as opposed to understanding this
likewise, I realize you yearn to be recalled.

You’ve changed.
People who have left don’t define you.
How you react to their non-appearance doesn’t define you.
Hope defines you.
Love defines you and most especially You define you.

You are a survivor, a hero, a solid person developing further each day.
You are not despite your battle; you are not a direct result of your battle.

You don’t need to make a decent attempt.
The torment isn’t your deficiency.
The agony isn’t a character defect or a handy solution.
You don’t need to censure yourself for it or imagine it’s not there.
Feel it. It’s alright to feel.
Feeling takes strength.
